Print & PDI Championships
This annual competition is held to find the Champion Club
in both prints and PDI for the MCPF and to see which two clubs will represent the
midlands in PAGB annual Inter Club Championships for prints and PDI. The Championships
are held in April at The Civic Centre, Braunstone, Leicester, and is open to any
affiliated club/society in the MCPF. The competition is marked by three judges selected
outside the MCPF. Clubs may enter the print or PDI or both competitions. (Rules
and conditions apply). The winning club receives a trophy and MCPF medal and the
judges choose the best colour print, best monochrome print and best pdi and then
get to choose their own favourite in each.
The top two winning clubs go through to the PAGB Championships; PDI in July at University of Warwick and the Prints in October at Deeside College, Connahs Quay. The top eight clubs from these competitions gain automatic entry into the following years competition. If the MCPF championship winning club has already gained automatic entry into the PAGB Inter-Club competition then the runner up club from the MCPF Championship will win through, and if that club has gained automatic entry as well the next highest placed club will go through and so on.

The closing date for entries is at the beginning of February, (the same date as the MCPF General meeting). Look out for the dates in newsletters, and on this site. Rules and entry forms are sent to your Competition Sec or General Sec late November and again early Jan, so if you don’t see them remind your secretary or download them from this site.
The images for the exhibition are chosen by six selectors, three for the general sections and three for the nature sections, this takes place the week after the closing date. We endeavour to get the results out to you as quickly as possible usually a week to a week and half after judging.
We try and encourage you to enter through your club so that print handling is less cumbersome but individual entries are accepted but be aware your results could well be sent to person who has organised your club entry and not directly back to you.
The exhibition is held in March (dates will vary from year to year) from Wednesday through to Sunday at the Old Schoolhouse, Churchbridge, Oldbury, W. Mids. Dates and details will be sent out to your club in plenty of time and can be found on this site or downloaded, along with posters and maps.

Photofolio Competition, Exhibition and Travelling Exhibition
Photofolio is a Club
Competition which forms an Exhibition and from that exhibition a travelling exhibition
is selected.
There are three sections that a club/society may enter; colour prints,
monochrome prints or PDI. (there is no separate nature section) clubs may enter up
to 20 images in each section. Three judges will mark the work and then the average
mark per image is worked out. The club with the highest average mark per image is
declared the winner. There are also a number of individual awards that can be won.
Once the work is marked and the exhibition chosen, then the travelling exhibition
or portfolio is chosen. All the award winners and at least one piece of work from
each club/society is selected. A taped commentary is made for the accepted images
and this is included in the Travelling Portfolio package. The Travelling Portfolio
can be booked by any of the MCPF clubs/societies usually 12 months in advance and
calendar of where and when is devised by the Travelling Portfolio Secretary.
The exhibition
is held in June at the Old Schoolhouse, Churchbridge, Oldbury, W. Mids. Dates and
details will be sent out to your club in plenty of time and can be found on this
site or downloaded, along with posters and maps.
